Allison Berey is an amalgam of professional and academic experiences gained in the U.S. and globally, across a wide range of industries. She is a big believer in the power of strategic focus and alignment, and enjoys collaborating with CEO’s and their leadership teams by leveraging her experience to help clients grow aggressively and profitably.
Allison’s work as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer with mid-market companies and private equity often has game-changing impact. A highly accomplished and results-oriented leader with over 30 years of experience, she is somewhat atypical as a Marketing leader in her analytical and broad, business-minded approach. She has divided her career between working as a management consultant and in corporate leadership roles, achieving measurable success in professional services, financial services, and many business-to-business verticals. This balanced background enables her to fuse an understanding of both how management thinks and how consultant recommendations can be effectively implemented. She is dedicated to avoiding powerpoint decks that gather dust on shelves!
Allison enjoys scaling down strategic marketing methodology and tools proven in large corporate settings to serve high-growth mid-market and fast-growing smaller companies. She works on a Fractional CMO or project basis, and while the core of her work is at the strategic end of the spectrum, she also enjoys providing strategic guidance to internal or vendor teams as they execute.
In previous work with Fortune 500 consumer and B2B companies in the US and globally, Allison led a broad range of corporate-wide new market entry and strategic marketing initiatives. Before launching M:CALIBRATE, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for a major national professional services firm where she built a Marketing and Business Development platform to support its period of rapid expansion. She was pleased to see the firm achieve significant industry accolades and measurable ROI improvements in all Marketing and Business Development metrics. Over her tenure, the firm achieved a 50-spot leap in brand strength and a major rise in client service and client relationship strength rankings to levels significantly disproportionate to the firm’s size.
Allison received her MBA from the Wharton School in Marketing, and her MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her BA in Chinese and Political Science at the University of Michigan, and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Allison was inducted into the Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Class of 2017, enjoys being on an active board member, and is a proud Helzberg Entrepreneurial Management Program (HEMP) Mentor. Allison is dedicated to her two teenage boys and husband, and loves her life based in Kansas City!
