Allison Berey is a proud Kansas City native who is also an amalgam of professional and academic experiences gained in the U.S. and globally, across a wide range of industries. She is a big believer in the strength of teams and in the power of strategic focus, and enjoys collaborating with CEO’s and their leadership teams by leveraging her experience to help clients grow aggressively and profitably.
A highly accomplished and results-oriented leader with 30 years of experience in growth strategy and marketing, Allison has divided her career between working as a consultant and in corporate leadership roles, achieving measurable success in professional services, financial services, and many business-to-business verticals. This balanced background enables her to fuse an understanding of both how management thinks and how consultant recommendations can be most effectively implemented. Allison enjoys scaling strategic marketing methodology and tools proven in large corporate settings to serve high-growth, mid-market and private equity portfolio companies. She has focused primarily in strategic planning, global market development, marketing department creation, brand strategy/value proposition development, service/product innovation, customer experience and business development strategy.
In previous work with Fortune 500 consumer and B2B companies, Allison led a broad range of corporate-wide new market entry and strategic marketing initiatives. Most recently, as Chief Marketing Officer for a top national professional services firm, she built a national Marketing and Business Development platform during its period of rapid expansion, and was pleased to see the firm achieve significant industry accolades and measurable ROI improvements in all Marketing metrics over her tenure. Industry rankings achieved include a 50-spot leap in brand strength and a major rise in client service and client relationship strength rankings to levels significantly disproportionate to the firm’s size.
Allison received her MBA from the Wharton School in Marketing and her MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her BA in Chinese and Political Science at the University of Michigan, and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Allison was inducted into the Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Class of 2017. Allison is dedicated to her two teenage boys and husband, and is thrilled to be back in Kansas City!
